  • The University of Michigan has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) to assist communities in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin that have been adversely impacted by automotive manufacturing plant closures.  The focus of the Community Economic Adjustment Program (CEAP) is to assist communities with efforts to organize and prepare a strategic socioeconomic recovery plan that identifies projects to mitigate economic distress and the adverse social impacts caused by loss of jobs, tax base, and the revenue from wages and spending.
     
    At this important event, Federal, State, and Non-Profit agency representatives will make brief presentations about programs and resources that are available to existing businesses and entrepreneurs.  After the presentations, breakout sessions will be held which will enable you to meet one-on-one with agency representatives.  This will also allow you to obtain more information about the programs and resources available and ask specific questions regarding projects/proposals.   This is a unique opportunity to learn about what resources are available and how to access those resources.
